December Tea

The Idaho Region will celebrate the anniversary of Jane Austen’s birth at its 19th annual tea on Saturday, December 8, 2012.  The tea, which will be held at Boise’s Grove Hotel, will begin at 11:00 a.m.  The menu will include scones, tea sandwiches and pastries.

James Nagle, attorney, JASNA Secretary, and popular AGM speaker, will deliver a presentation entitled “Inheritance in Jane Austen’s Time.”  Mr. Nagle will cite examples from Austen’s novels and the BBC Series “Downton Abbey” to explain entails, women’s rights and primogeniture.

Books and gift items will be available for purchase.  Several baskets will be raffled, and raffle tickets will also be available for purchase.

Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credit is available for attorneys attending the tea and presentation.  The CLE course number is 12-3075, and 0.5 credits will be given.  For details, visit the Idaho State Bar website, http://isb.idaho.gov/licensing/mcle/upcoming_courses.html.

Reservation and prepayment are required by December 1, 2012.  Space is limited, and cost is $25.00 per person.  Please contact Irene Miller Coen, imcoen@live.com, or (208) 577-7686 for reservations and information.
