The Idaho Region will celebrate the anniversary of Jane Austen’s birth at its
19th annual tea on Saturday, December 8, 2012. The tea, which will be held at Boise’s
Grove Hotel, will begin at 11:00 a.m.
The menu will include scones, tea sandwiches and pastries.
James Nagle, attorney, JASNA Secretary,
and popular AGM speaker, will deliver a presentation entitled “Inheritance in
Jane Austen’s Time.” Mr. Nagle
will cite examples from Austen’s novels and the BBC Series “Downton Abbey” to
explain entails, women’s rights and primogeniture.
Books and gift items will be available for purchase. Several baskets will be raffled, and
raffle tickets will also be available for purchase.
Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credit is available for
attorneys attending the tea and presentation. The CLE course number is 12-3075, and 0.5 credits will be
